Hank’s Equipment Hire – Local Family Operated Whitsundays Business.

Trailer hire from Hank’s Equipment Hire covers Airlie Beach, Cannonvale, Proserpine, Bowen and the wider Whitsunday Coast. The fleet runs two trailers: a 12×7 flat top for general loads, and a 3.5 tonne hydraulic tilt trailer with a 12,000lb electric winch for vehicles and machinery. Pickup is from Airlie Beach by arrangement.

The trailer fleet

Hank’s runs two trailers across the Whitsundays: a 12×7 flat top for general loads and a 3.5 tonne hydraulic tilt for car and machinery transport. Both are ATM-rated, set up with electric brakes and 7-pin flat plugs, and come with tie-down points and a spare wheel fitted.

The 12×7 flat top trailer

The 12×7 flat top is the general-purpose trailer in the fleet. Side boards, a cage and loading ramps suit green waste hauls, furniture moves, building material runs and any load that fits within the 3,600mm by 2,100mm deck.

  • ATM: 3,500 kg
  • Payload: 2,600 kg
  • Deck size: 3,600mm L x 2,100mm W
  • Side board height: 300mm (with boards fitted)
  • Loading ramps
  • Side boards and cage
  • Electric brakes
  • 7-pin flat plug
  • Tie-down points
  • Spare tyre

The 3.5 tonne hydraulic tilt trailer

The hydraulic tilt trailer is built for moving cars, machinery, and broken-down or non-running vehicles. The bed tilts to ground level for ramp-free loading, and a 12,000lb electric winch pulls dead vehicles up onto the deck.

  • Payload: 2,500 kg
  • Deck size: 5m L x 2m W
  • Hydraulic tilt loading (no ramps required)
  • 12,000lb electric winch
  • Electric brakes
  • 7-pin flat plug
  • Tie-down points
  • Spare wheel

The flat top suits material moves and general loads; the tilt trailer handles vehicle and machinery transport. Both are picked up from Airlie Beach with a vehicle rated to tow the loaded trailer weight.

What these trailers are good for

The 12×7 flat top covers general hauling and material moves around the Whitsundays. The hydraulic tilt trailer carries vehicles and machinery between sites, including non-running vehicles that need winching onto the deck.

Green waste, garden and tip runs

Property owners, landscapers and rural residents use the 12×7 flat top for clearing branches, lawn clippings, soil and general rubbish to the local tip or transfer station. The side boards and cage keep loose material from blowing off during transit.

Furniture moves and small house moves

The 3,600mm by 2,100mm deck fits couches, fridges, mattresses, dining tables, washing machines and most household furniture. DIY movers and renters use the flat top for short-distance house moves, removal jobs, and shifting larger second-hand purchases.

Building material and trade supply runs

Builders, tradies and DIY renovators use the flat top to pick up pavers, bricks, timber, plasterboard, tiles and bagged products from local suppliers. The 2,600kg payload covers most single-pallet building material loads.

Car transport and vehicle relocations

The hydraulic tilt trailer carries cars, utes, vans and 4WDs between locations across the Whitsundays. The bed tilts to ground level for low-clearance vehicles, removing the need to drive up loading ramps.

Machinery transport and non-running vehicle recovery

The 12,000lb electric winch pulls dead-engine cars, project vehicles, broken-down machinery and old equipment onto the tilt trailer’s deck. Mechanics, mobile workshops, machinery dealers and rural property owners use this combination for recovery and relocation work that a flat top can’t handle.

Trailer hire: pickup and what you need

Trailer hire is pickup-only from Airlie Beach. Customers need a tow vehicle rated for the loaded trailer weight, with electric brake compatibility and a 7-pin flat plug fitted.

Pickup from Airlie Beach

Trailers are collected from Airlie Beach in advance of the hire start. The customer’s tow vehicle hooks up to the trailer at pickup, and the trailer returns to the same Airlie Beach base at the end of the hire.

Tow vehicle requirements

Both trailers run on electric brakes and a 7-pin flat plug, so the tow vehicle needs a compatible brake controller and matching plug. The flat top has a 3,500kg ATM loaded; the hydraulic tilt carries up to 2,500kg payload. The tow vehicle’s towing capacity needs to suit the loaded trailer weight.

What you need to hire

Hires require a current Australian driver’s licence at handover. The minimum hire period is one day, with day rates, weekly rates and long-term rates available.
