What the slashing service covers

The work covers more than open pasture. Pasture and paddock slashing on rural and hobby farm blocks, fence line clearing for boundary maintenance and fence repair access, firebreak slashing ahead of fire season, vegetation management on overgrown blocks and absentee owner properties, and general paddock preparation are all part of the service.

Tropical Whitsundays grass can run away quickly through wet season, and overgrown blocks bring tougher conditions than residential mowing. Established pasture, fresh regrowth, scrubby boundary strips and neglected paddocks are all within scope of the rig.

Who the service suits

The work suits rural acreage owners managing larger blocks across the Whitsundays, hobby farmers with paddocks to keep on top of, small block owners without a slasher of their own, and residential property owners whose paddock-sized lawns have got away from them. Absentee owners and weekenders who can’t get the work done themselves are a regular fit too.

The tractor and slasher

Work is currently done with a John Deere tractor and a heavy duty rotary slasher attachment. The setup is sized for tough tropical grass, not light residential lawns. Established pasture, fresh regrowth and tough boundary scrub are all within reach of the rig.

A new tractor is being added to the fleet shortly. Specs will update once it lands, but the slashing capacity and service won’t change.

Slashing covers Airlie Beach, Cannonvale, Jubilee Pocket, Cannon Valley, Proserpine, Bowen, Strathdickie, Hideaway Bay, Bloomsbury, Conway Beach, Midge Point and the broader Whitsunday Region. Travel further afield in Queensland is possible by arrangement.
