Frequently asked questions

Booking, pricing and cancellation

How do I get a quote?

Call 0434 085 029 or send an enquiry through the contact form with the gear you need, the dates, and the worksite address. Quotes cover day rates, weekly rates and long-term rates, plus delivery cost where applicable.

Do you take a deposit?

No deposit is required to book a hire. Payment is processed at the start of the hire period, or on invoice for established commercial customers.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Cancellations are accepted without a fee, especially when weather or scheduling changes things. Whitsundays weather can shift quickly during wet season, and Hank’s takes a flexible approach. Call as soon as plans change so the gear can be made available to another customer.

What’s the minimum hire period?

All gear is hired on a one-day minimum. Weekly and long-term rates apply for longer hires and work out cheaper per day.

What payment methods do you accept?

Card, cash and invoice are all accepted. Invoice payment is available for established commercial customers.

Pickup, delivery and hours

Do you deliver?

Delivery is available across the Whitsunday Coast, with costs quoted on distance to the worksite. Pickup from Airlie Beach is also welcome by arrangement for customers with appropriate transport.

Can I get same-day hire?

Same-day hire is possible when the gear is available and not already booked. The more notice you can give, the better the chance of locking it in, but call any time to check current availability.

What are your hours?

The phone is on 24/7 on 0434 085 029. Day or night, the line stays open for availability, quotes and last-minute hires.

How quickly will I get a callback?

Voicemails and form enquiries get a return within one hour. If you can’t get through straight away, leave a message or fill out the form.

Licences and ID

What ID do I need to hire?

A current Australian driver’s licence is required at handover for all hires. The licence covers identity verification for the rental contract.

What licence do I need to drive the tipper truck?

The Isuzu 75/190 tipper truck sits in the LR (Light Rigid) licence range, which covers vehicles between 4.5 and 8 tonne GVM. A current driver’s licence with LR class endorsement is required to take it on the road.

What tow vehicle do I need for the trailers?

Both trailers run electric brakes and a 7-pin flat plug, so the tow vehicle needs a compatible brake controller and matching plug. The flat top trailer has a 3,500kg ATM when loaded; the hydraulic tilt trailer carries up to 2,500kg payload. The tow vehicle’s rated towing capacity needs to suit the loaded trailer weight.

Equipment specifics

Will the mini excavator fit through my gate?

The Caterpillar 301.7 retracts to 990mm wide, which fits through a standard one-metre side gate. Zero tail swing means the back of the machine doesn’t slew outward when the boom rotates, so it works in tight side passages without damaging fences or walls.

Can I run 3-phase tools off the generator?

No. The 5.8kVA generator is single-phase 240V only, suiting standard tradie hand tools, site lighting and small appliances. Industrial three-phase equipment needs a different generator class.
